The IRC is leading a Pakistan Reading Project (PRP) to improve the quality of reading in public and private schools, supporting at least 2.5 million additional primary school students to read at a level commensurate with standards at their grade level. This goal will be supported by the mutually-reinforcing components of teacher education and professional development (PD), systems reform, and civil society engagement

Responsibilities:• Assist in reviewing current education policies at National / Provincial level.• Assist in preparing component work plans to support provincial authorities and HEC in developing teacher education strategies, materials, certifications, teacher mapping and capacity building of teacher.• Organize dialogue among stakeholders of the project including Govt. counterparts to identify any possible revisions needed in the current policy.• Coordinate with Provincial Education Departments to establish Provincial Technical Steering Committee, assist in organizing meetings.• Support relevant forums and bodies in order to prepare recommendations for policy change.• Facilitate proceedings of meetings of relevant forums, committees or bodies.• Facilitate dissemination of recommendations prepared to appropriate authorities.? Assist Policy and System Coordinator in preparing work plans and monthly event calendars.• Collect relevant data and prepare progress reports for ‘Policy and System Component.’ • Support respective Department of Education to develop / strengthen HRIS and EMIS for better decision-making at Provincial and District level.
• Represent the project at various meetings / forums as assigned.Requirements:• Master’s in Education / Social Science from a recognized University• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferably in an INGO• Demonstrated knowledge of HRIS and EMIS systems• Knowledge of Pakistani education system both at national and provincial level• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work under pressure with colleagues, consultants, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds• Good organizational and public relation skills• Experience in working with USAID funded projects desirable• Strong written, verbal and communication skills in English and Urdu. Knowledge of local language preferred• Good report writing skills

The English Language Advisor is responsible for the coordination and technical implementation of provincial English language pre-service and in-service teacher training activities. The English Language Advisor will work closely with the technical team and the project office staff in each region to provide technical oversight for strategies, obstacles, performance plans, and indicator success in English language training.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated innovation and success in staff capacity-building and in participatory, flexible, and gender-sensitive programming and implementation;
• Fluency in English and Urdu is required.• Manage rollout of training activities for pre- and in-service teachers in English Language;• Deliver training of trainers in English Language literacy content;• Support development and distribution of English Language Kits of supplemental teaching and learning materials;• Coordinate with Urdu Language Reading Specialist to ensure cohesion of teacher professional development training content• Coordinate with other regional English Language Advisors and Senior English Language Advisor in Islamabad to design and deliver teacher education training programs’ curricula and materials; • Contribute to work planning and quarterly and annual progress reporting for English language training program activities;• Contribute written inputs and monitoring data for regular English Language content reports;• Represent PRP and IRC to key government counterparts, donors, and education institutions at the provincial level.

Requirements:• BA in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or other relevant discipline; • A minimum of five years’ TESOL training experience, preferably working with teachers;• Experience in managing training activities and workshops (e.g. managing training logistics and developing training materials);• Demonstrable interpersonal and intercultural skills and experience working closely with international teams;• Strong organizational and administrative skills, with high attention to detail;• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including computer skills – word processing, Excel, etc.;• Previous experience with donor-funded programs preferred;

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Scholarships Advisor is responsible for the coordination and oversight of academic scholarship programs to upgrade teacher and faculty skills in each region of the country.

Responsibilities:

• Lead host institution recruitment and selection and participant placement strategies;• Oversee the participant application process by ensuring the timely submission of requisite university paperwork, obtaining necessary application documentation, communicating with the universities, and monitoring the admissions process; • Oversee participant caseload which includes monitoring their progress; counseling them on academic, financial, and personal matters; preparing status reports; working closely with key university contacts; and keeping the funder updated on key student developments;• Design and lead (as necessary) orientations;• Work closely with finance and regional teams to track scholarship budgets;• Conduct travel to host universities for site visits;• Contribute written inputs and monitoring data for regular scholarship reports;• Lead work planning and quarterly and annual progress reporting for scholarship activities;• Represent PRP to key government counterparts, donors, and education institutions at the provincial level.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities: • Provide leadership and oversight to teacher training team for both pre-service and in-service training programs • Plan and lead implementation of teacher training activities in the region• Liaise with cooperating government and private institutions for implementation of activities • As necessary, design and or roll out monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to ensure regular data collection, quality assurance, and regular reporting • Travel to field sites and district offices to oversee implementation and monitoring of project activities• Identify technical and operational needs and communicate them to the technical coordinator and/or head of office• Contribute to capacity building of teacher training staff • Assist technical coordinator in preparing annual regional office work plans and budgets• Contribute both qualitative and quantitative reporting • Ensure adherence to project work plans and performance management plans. Requirements: • Master’s degree in education of related field, experience with teacher training projects• At least 4 years of professional experience in the education sector, preferably international non-governmental organizations • Demonstrated experience in implementation of teacher training activities including coordination with district and provincial education officials, schools, teachers, and preferably pre-service teacher training institutions• Strong coordination and communication skills to ensure that project activities are implemented on time and with quality • Strong training and organization skills• Familiarity with primary teaching practices• Familiarity with the regional context• Fluency in English, both verbal and written as well as fluency in Urdu is required. Knowledge of local languages preferred
