Angola: Consultant to Review Peer Education Materials

Do you want to contribute Adolescents and Youths Education in Angola?

UNICEF is looking for a dynamic, pro-active specialist in developing educational materials about sexuality, HIV and AIDS for adolescents and youths, who can review a peer education material (Peer Education Manual and Facilitation Guide).

Qualification and Experience

• Masters' in social sciences, preferably in the area of communication for development, participative or educational communication;• Experience in document analysis and information systematisation;• Proven experience in developing peer education materials, particularly manuals and facilitation guides on sexuality, HIV, AIDS and other related topics.• Experience in producing materials for youths with little schooling would be an advantage;• Good knowledge and understanding about HIV and AIDS along with other sexually transmitted diseases;• Easy of talking about topics related with sexually and gender and others related with the theme;• Excellent skills in: Writing and communicating in Portuguese, adapting the writing to specific audiences, good knowledge of English is an advantage, openness to criticism;• Skill in coordinating and harmoniously interacting with national authorities• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

FLUENCY IN PORTUGUESE ( ORAL AND WRITTEN ) IS A REQUIREMENT

We are offering a short-term contract (45 days). Pay is calculated at Level P3 in accordance with the United Nations table for consultant pay.

The project will provide engineering designs of rural roads, quality assurance of construction standards, and capacity building in road maintenance. The candidate will be based in Juba, South Sudan.

Responsibilities:The Materials/Soils Engineer will be responsible for conducting and supervising materials survey and investigations, reviewing information on soils and subgrade properties to be used in the rehabilitation and maintenance of roads.

Qualifications:• Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or a related field;• Be a registered or Chartered Professional Engineer (PE); • Have at least 8 years of experience in pavement design, materials testing and investigations; • Demonstrated experience working on donor-funded projects; experience on USAID-funded projects preferred; • Demonstrated experience with earth and gravel roads construction strategies in developing countries; and• Fluency in written and spoken English required.
