Global Communities is seeking a qualified Team Leader candidate to provide overall leadership and management of an upcoming long term KFW-funded project in Honduras. The project seeks to reduce violence through urban design, community infrastructure and youth-centered workforce development activities.
The Team Leader will provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the program; provide oversight of the project’s financial management and procurement systems to ensure that they are in line with Global Communities policies and procedures and donor rules and regulations; make key decisions and solve problems in short time frames while ensuring operational and program integrity; ensure timely, high-quality, and complete submission of work plans, performance and financial reports; and provide effective leadership to ensure effective integration of program implementation among partner organizations.
Qualifications:
Advance degree in international development or related discipline.
International expert with a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in the field of participatory urban development in Latin America, violence prevention, education and youth programming, and financial project management.
Must demonstrate administrative and management including experience with procedures of international financial entities, preferably KFW.
Must maintain a permanent presence in Honduras for at least the first 36 months of the program. Strong program coordination and institutional strengthening skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, diplomacy and negotiation skills.
Excellent written and spoken English and Spanish.
Prior work experience in Honduras is a strong advantage.
