Overview of role

SPIRASI aims to protect, rehabilitate and integrate survivors of torture and other vulnerable people. Our team of medical doctors, psychologists, therapists and psycho-social workers aid survivors of torture in their rehabilitation. SPIRASI works to integrate migrants into Irish society by providing English and IT classes and other activities. SPIRASI has been working with survivors of torture since early 2001 and is the only specialist centre in Ireland for the care and rehabilitation of survivors of torture and severe trauma.

SPIRASI is seeking a full time volunteer Fundraising Coordinator to join a dynamic team of staff and volunteers. You will lead, develop and implement the SPIRASI fundraising strategy to raise significant funds and awareness of SPIRASI’s work; research, map and write grants; develop fundraising tools and resources to support SPIRASI’s fundraising strategy; and build trusted relationships with donors and partners.

You will have excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently under your own initiative as well as be a team player. You will have excellent written, presentational and inter personal skills, IT skills and a good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications. You will be able to handle large volumes of qualitative and quantitative data and pay attention to detail. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.

Main responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of a fundraisng strategy to ensure the sustainable development of the charity.

F2F Fundraising Principal Coordinator will lead, manage and be responsible for our small F2F fundraising teams ranging from 3 to 10 members. The Mae Tao Clinic (MTC) is an internationally renowned community-based organisation (CBO) that provides and advocates for an equitable and essential health system, education and protection for vulnerable and displaced people living in the Thai-Burma border area and Eastern Burma. MTC addresses the needs and human rights of these people through comprehensive programs and a collaborative approach with local, national, international and government bodies.

Role Summary:
The Fundraising & Grants Manager is responsible for increasing and diversifying annual income of approximately $4 million from a range of donors, including government, INGOs, private foundations and individuals.

Managing grants means the overall management of donor relations, communications and funding, ensuring compliance with grant agreements and fulfilment of donor needs.

The Fundraising & Grants Manager reports to the Deputy Director – Operations, but also works constantly with all the senior management team.

Working week and location:
The role requires you to work Monday to Friday 9–5, but due to the nature of some donors and other demands, it can mean working outside these hours.

The role is based in Mae Sot, Thailand. There are occasional requirements to travel in Thailand, and potentially in the region for donor liaison.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Work closely with programme and data staff to develop project plans and indicators of achievement; prepare narrative programme and project proposals and logical frameworks

• Strengthen monitoring and reporting systems to deliver quality project, programme and annual reports

• Improve and maintain MTC communications through the website, social media and other materials

• Collaborate closely with the finance department to assess the funding status and to ensure coherence between financial and narrative reports and proposals

• Conduct prospect research, expand online fundraising and cultivate high-net worth individuals to increase the donor base

Qualifications & Experience:

• University graduation in an applicable discipline with at least three to five years related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

• Minimum 2 years direct fundraising/ grant management experience

• Experience of working with government funding agencies like USAID and DFID, preferable

• Ability to independently apply a broad knowledge of fund-raising practices and principles

Background

Main responsibilities

The candidate will select target communities with the support of the country team that s/he will assess in depth in the field. The PDFM will prepare a 3-5 years development plan for these communities based on the results of the assessments. Subsequently, the PDFM will be responsible to raise institutional funds for financing the development plan. You will provide support to Field Offices in delivery of effective programmes according to the Country Programme and Regional Strategies and raising the profile amongst Institutional Donors.

The successful candidate must have substantial experience of successful institutional funding in the last 3 years. The candidate will have a proven track record of successful proposal development for bilateral donors such as DFID, ECHO, Europe Aid, SIDA, CIDA, USAid etc. A University Post Graduate degree or equivalent experience in development/ humanitarian or in a relevant field. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in designing and planning development and humanitarian interventions with international NGOs at senior level. Excellent English, written and spoken is essential. Knowledge of a foreign language (Arabic or French) or the local language is desirable. WaterAid works through supporting local organizations and government authorities to design low cost sustainable projects using appropriate and affordable technologies that can be managed by the community itself. WaterAid also seeks to influence the policy change through government and other key international organizations to secure and protect the right of poor people to safe, affordable water and sanitation services.

You will lead on all the fundraising efforts for WaterAid Tanzania including planning, managing and ensuring the delivery of an agreed fundraising budget. You will be responsible for researching, identifying and cultivating potential donors, managing and implementing a fundraising action plan covering WaterAid Tanzania's, foundations, grants / major donors to satisfy current donor needs and maintain oversight of fundraising across CP. You will also be WaterAid Tanzania chief liaison with all donor organizations in WaterAid Tanzania and will support the CR to maintain cordial relationships with the onor community.

You will lead the SMT in managing the effective implementation of WaterAid Tanzania’s fundraising strategy that supports WaterAid’s work in delivering WASH services in poor communities.

Notre mission est de faciliter l’accès aux services de santé maternelle afin de lutter contre la mortalité maternelle dans les communautés défavorisées.

Nous intervenons principalement en Afrique (Somalie, Éthiopie, Kenya, Tchad, Sénégal, etc.) où nous mettons en place des actions médicales et de prévention pour améliorer les soins maternels.

Nous recherchons un(e) stagiaire pour travailler dans la communication et le fundraising

Missions fundraising : - Rédiger des propositions de projet et des demandes de subvention- Mener des recherches thématiques pour consolider les proposions de projet- Communiquer avec le personnel de terrain pour obtenir des informations utiles pour les demandes de subvention- Traduire des documents en fonction des besoins

Missions communication : - Assurer la mise à jour régulière de la version en langue française du site internet de WAHA et traduire de l'anglais au français les articles publiés sur le site- Identifier, rédiger et superviser la production d’articles qui seront publiés sur des sites internet et des blogs externes en langue française- Développer et entretenir des relations avec les médias, les ONG et d'autres acteurs concernés du monde humanitaire en France

Profil du candidat : Bac + 4/5 en action humanitaire, gestion de projet, santé publique, communication etc. Excellente capacité de rédactionGrande capacité d’analyse et de recherchePolyvalence et adaptabilité Français comme langue maternelle et une bonne maîtrise de l’Anglais

Disponibilité: A partir de Septembre 2013, stage de 4-6 mois
