DAI seeks qualified candidates with technical expertise in the areas of climate change adaptation, climate-smart agriculture, natural resource management, and household nutrition for an integrated economic growth project for sustainable development of the horticulture value chain in Timor-Leste.

The anticipated project will strengthen human and institutional capacity for development by empowering rural households to utilize and access resources and assets; increasing productivity in the agriculture sector; and promoting integrated interventions for climate-smart agricultural practices, watershed management, and nutrition education. Illustrative interventions include strengthening the horticulture value chain, improving land use planning, and natural resource management, and reinforcing complementary components for nutrition, behavior change, and life skills.

Qualifications

• Seven years or more of technical experience designing and implementing programs and interventions in the areas of climate change adaptation, climate-smart agriculture, natural resources management, nutrition education, and behavior change
• Experience in establishing, managing and/or operating programs involving coordination with multiple program partner institutions in developing countries.
• An advanced degree in a technical area related to agricultural productivity, health and nutrition, natural resources management, climate change, or related field is required.
• Fluent English is required, working knowledge of Tetum is a plus.
• Experience working in Timor-Leste is desirable.
