Conflict and natural disasters devastate lives. All too often it’s the lives of the world’s poorest people. You’ll help us and our partners around the world to deliver and ultimately save lives and reduce human suffering.

More than half the world lives in poverty. We aim to put a stop to that. So we campaign against the inequalities that keep people poor and we work with local organisations to give people strength to find their own solutions to the problems they face, irrespective of their religion. If you’re as determined as we are to end poverty and injustice across the world, work with us to make change happen.

When disaster strikes we’re quick to respond working with our partners to deliver vital emergency relief. You’ll be part of a dynamic humanitarian team providing support to our humanitarian programmes, monitoring and reporting and, general technical support functions. The role will also have a focus in providing specific support on security, accountability and other technical areas which our humanitarian work may be focussing on. You will need a good understanding on security issues, compliance and how effective security management can be integrated into our work particularly in challenging environments. The post holder will work closely too in supporting the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP) roll out and subsequent follow ups. During the early stages of an emergency the post holder will work closely with the humanitarian and respective geographical divisions to put in place the necessary systems (both financial and administrative) to support the emergency programmes, ensuring they run smoothly. You are likely to have worked in the NGO sector or with an international organisation. Whatever your background you’ll be able to interact with a wide cross section of people and organisations both in the UK and in other parts of the world. You may have to travel for up to 75 days in a year.

We value the contribution each person makes to the success of our organisation. That’s why you can expect a wide range of rewards and benefits, including a generous holiday allowance, an interest-free season ticket loan, and flexibility that will ensure you enjoy a good work/life balance

As this post is UK based, non-EC nationals will require current and valid permission to work in the UK.
