Senior Director, Cause Platforms
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and UNICEF Ventures, the Senior Director of Cause Platforms will be responsible for leading the USF’s efforts to evolve and expand existing campaigns such as Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, and develop new cause-related ventures and platforms to drive future revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
• Lead execution of the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign, including planning, budgeting, managing and coordinating all related work streams across the organization, monitoring performance and reporting results
• Lead efforts to modernize Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, including expansion into digital, entertainment and retail channels, with the goal of driving rapid growth in the number of kids engaged and income generated
• Lead efforts to identify, develop and incubate new cause-related ventures, with an emphasis on innovative and highly scalable ideas for engaging kids and parents
• Institute and lead internal due diligence process for new venture opportunities, working closely with internal stakeholders across Divisions to formulate recommendations
• Develop and manage internal team, including coaching and mentoring with team members
• Manage external relationships with advisors, agencies and collaborators, and lead cultivation of partners to evolve existing campaigns and bring new ventures to market
• Manage internal relationships, including marketing, PR, digital, corporate and licensing teams
• Lead contract negotiations in collaboration with finance and legal teams
• Represent USF at internal and external meetings and events
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 7-10 years’ work experience in business development, sales and/or marketing; Master’s degree in business or related field preferred
• Deep expertise in conceptualizing and developing innovative cause-related marketing initiatives
• Direct experience working in at least two of the following sectors: technology, education, entertainment, retail
• Direct experience marketing a product, service or campaign targeting kids and parents.
• Familiarity with agile development and rapid prototyping methodologies
• Strong track record of achieving measurable results and driving revenue growth
• Demonstrated interest and commitment to children’s issues
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment under multiple deadlines, with “grace under pressure”
• Strong sense of team work and collaboration, and demonstrated ability to build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
