Oxfam Intermon is looking to fill the position of Food Security & Livelihoods Advisor in the Program Policy Unit, for the International Cooperation Department, in our Headquarters in Barcelona.The position aims to improve the quality of implementation of field work (both Humanitarian and Long term livelihood development) and to strength the thematic development capacity of the Food security and Livelihood unit of Oxfam Intermon. The position is divided between work done at headquarters (60-70% of time) contributing to the global Food security and livelihood thematic development, supporting Livelihood programs in countries together with regional teams and work done at the field level (30-40% of time) which includes the following: Strategic planning, livelihood context analysis, program evaluation, support to Emergency response; support DRR and contingency planning activities, Team support/trainings.Oxfam Intermon is member of the Oxfam Confederation and plays an active humanitarian role and a key role on resilience, and value chain support. The position will join a small and enthusiastic team connected to global Oxfam network, working in West Africa, East Africa & Horn, and Latin America. As a global resource, the person may be called worldwide. KEY RESPONSABILITIESReporting to the Head of Food Security and Livelihoods Unit the person selected:Will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for country teams on FSVL issues in emergency and long term development contexts. Will work to ensure quality and impact in food security and livelihoods programmes on the ground. Will contribute to the thematic development for Oxfam Intermon and for the rest of Oxfam confederation. The person will assume Oxfam Intermon contribution to global Oxfam groupsMain functions: Food security and Livelihoods assessment.FS&L program/project design.Project evaluation and Real team evaluations.Production and dissemination of thematic tools/guidelines and materials for EFSVL interventions.
REQUIRED PROFILEPost-graduate degree in relevant discipline (ex. Economics, Social Science, Agricultural science).Experience in emergency programmes and long term program is mandatory.5 years professional experience in the field with international NGO for food security and livelihood programmes, including 2 years in emergency contexts.Knowledge and experience of managing different EFSVL interventions, such as cash transfer programmes, agriculture and livestock programmes, DRR measures and contingency planning in more than one country Languages: High French, Spanish and English level is required. Result orientated and organisational capacity and vision for overall program improvement.Team work and collaboration, ability to engage with the teams at both field &headquarters level.High flexibility and adaptation to change.Availability to travel to the field.Sensitive to gender issues and right based approach.Identification with our principles and values.
WORKING CONDITIONSContract of employment: Permanent contract.Annual gross salary: 32.800 Euros.Social benefits: Children benefits.Working place: Barcelona, with frequent travels on the field.Incorporation: As soon as possible
