The purpose of the Senior Advocacy Adviser (Multilateral Institutions) is to develop and implement advocacy strategies to influence key UN agencies (on the Post 2015 agenda, child survival and other Save the Children priority development and humanitarian issues), G20 countries and the International Financial Institutions, especially the World Bank.
The post holder will undertake policy analysis aimed at strengthening Save the Children UK's understanding of, and ability to influence relevant policies and practices.
Key Accountabilities: - Support the development of high quality policy analysis- Monitor WB, EU & UN institutions to identify and recommend the key issues requiring Save the Children UK influence as well as potential threats.- Analysis and policy development on generic international development issues, from WB, UN & EU perspectives that are a priority for Save the Children UK.- Develop and maintain key relationships within the relevant institutions. Lobby politicians and officials based on an agreed contact management strategy
About you:
The post holder will come with knowledge of international development, and of relevant World Bank, EU & UN institutions (ways of working, agendas, and how to influence them) and demonstrable understanding of gender and diversity issues.
You will have strong conceptual and analytical skills with excellent communication for lobbying and media work and have a track record in policy influencing and knowledge of key multilateral institutions.
Overseas experience and fluency in French (written/spoken) is desirable.
Please note the post holder must be able to travel up to 30 days per year
