This is your opportunity to use your world-class leadership skills to play a key role in effectively improving the lives and futures of children and their families in Senegal.

In the role of National Director, you will lead World Vision’s operations in Senegal. You will also be a significant contributor to the broader global efforts of World Vision, currently working in nearly one hundred countries, helping around 100 million people in their struggle for better lives and futures for themselves and their children.

With nearly 260 staff, World Vision Senegal is currently active in six administrative regions, implementing about 150 projects (grouped into 28 integrated programmes) that significantly improve the lives of 69,155 children enrolled in the sponsorship programme and indirectly 877,975 people in 61 communities. Our work primarily focuses on long term community development, empowering people to take charge of their futures and make their communities places free of need and full of promise for their children. We also work to protect and promote human rights, especially those of children. And we work with communities to minimise their exposure to disasters and making it easier to deal with them when they occur.

We are looking for a visionary leader who can combine strong business disciplines with inspirational leadership skills in line with our values and ethos. You will have a passionate desire to help others, especially children.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Ensure that the office has a high quality Christian Commitment strategy and operations plan that is appropriate for country context.

• Ensure that a national monitoring & evaluation strategy based on technical and managerial indicators exists and is implemented.

• Ensure there are clear strategies for People and Culture (Human Resources), Communications and other main functions, and they are based on the office strategy and operational plan and include main priority areas identified in respective

• Maintain, and regularly review security and safety plans and protocols, (Disaster Preparedness Plan, and risk assessments at national and Area Development Program levels) and ensure understanding and compliance by all staff and visitors.

SKILLS REQUIRED INCLUDE:

• Significant management experience (general/operational) where there is evidence of both accountability & managerial know-how.

• Fluency in English and French.

• Willingness to learn and develop.

• Strong Understanding of Human Rights and particularly Child Rights.

• Proven leadership and management skills.

• Ability to work and travel extensively in country of assignment as well as internationally (approximately 20-25% of working time).

• Ability to work under pressure.

• Preferred: World Vision experience.
