Job Summary:
To provide a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the premises.
Responsible To:
Centre Manager
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Develop routines to ensure all common areas of the safe house are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
Assist in the kitchen as is necessary.
Promoting peaceful co-existence of residents and staff
Ensuring the availability of supplies in all lavatories
Use cleaning materials and consumables economically
Empty general waste refuse bins and make sure all refuse is disposed of promptly and using proper disposal methods
Ensure residents with special needs (persons with disability, older persons etc) are able to meet their daily needs with ease and comfort.
Assist persons with disability clean their clothes, linen and rooms
Ensure residents are treated equal, with respect, dignity and without favour
Any other duties assigned
Skills and Specifications
At least high school education is required
Should be dependable, responsible, honest and hard working
Must be comfortable working with children and adults and willing to take directions and instructions.
Should have good interpersonal skills to get along with other people
Should have manual knowledge and use of cleaning tools, chemicals and appliances
Should have a cheerful disposition and willing to work under dirty conditions
Must be able to lift heavy objects.
Languages:
Proficiency in English and Swahili
