About the roleThe Urbanisation Advisor will lead on defining and implementing SCA’s strategic direction on urban programming, with a focus on SCA’s key thematic areas of Health & Nutrition, Education, Child Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Change Adaptation, across both development and humanitarian contexts in Asia and the Pacific. Working collaboratively to build a strong SCA urban programming portfolio, the Urbanisation Advisor will:• Strengthen the quality of SC urban programs;• Strengthen the capacity of SC and partner staff to program in urban contexts;• Strengthen SCA’s innovation and leadership in urbanisation programming globally; • Represent and intensify the voice of urban programming internally and externally including influencing Save the Children International global strategy;
This role works in close collaboration with country teams and other technical assistance teams including: Child Protection, Education, Health & Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Change Adaptation, and Program Quality & Effectiveness. The post-holder will also work closely with the cross-SC Urban Steering Group, the SCI Asia Regional Office, and other relevant cross-organisational bodies including Global Initiatives and the Humanitarian Academy.
