KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Financial Management & Reporting• Prepare and maintain UK books of accounts in accordance with Finance Management Policies and Procedures;• Submit a monthly report to the Financial Controller • Receive, review and process all supplier invoices and make payments when approved• Process the monthly UK and international staff payroll, ensuring direct transfer to staff salary accounts and remitting the payroll deductions to the correct government authorities;
• Processing all bank transactions and reconcile all transactions. Submitting the bank reconciliation with the bank statement to the Financial Controller on a monthly basis;• Make payment for advances for staff travel • Prepare financial reports for each donor /partner in coordination with technical reports in accordance to the donor/partner requirements; submit all reports to the Financial Controller for review prior to submitting to the donor.• Ensure monthly management accounts are reviewed and variances are acted on by budget holders in the countries• Prepare budgets and update cash flow projections for the country office
Financial Systems Development• Work with the Financial Controller to improve financial systems in the UK office
Legal, security and Risk Management• Work with the external auditors in to complete required statutory audits;• Work with the Financial Controller to ensure compliance with all local statutory law, including in-country taxation, pension legislation and insurance
Human Resources• Ensure that time sheets are completed by all UK staff on a monthly basis and prepare the summary in accordance with the monthly timetable.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEssential:
MUST HAVE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK
• Part-qualified / fully qualified accountant in recognised global body e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA;• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university;• Working knowledge of accounting software;• Minimum of 2 years experience, in an accounting role;• Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft excel;• Good analytical and reporting skills;• High level of English, both written and spoken;• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and• Strong ability, to be able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
Desirable:
• A knowledge of NGO donors and their financial reporting requirements
