SPARK is a dynamic and growing not-for-profit development organization with 80 staff members that helps young entrepreneurs to start or grow their own businesses.
SPARK is achieving its mission by organizing business plan competitions, business skills training, SME coaching & mentoring, business incubation, SME financing, intensive higher vocational summer courses, curriculum development and quality assurance at universities and higher vocational education institutions.
SPARK is currently looking to fill the position of:
Program Intern – Economic Development for Libya/MENA-region
The Intern will additionally focus on background research on investment tendencies as well as other tasks related to SPARK’s economic development program in the MENA-region. Part of the assignment is to assist in organizing a study visit of a Libyan business delegation to Amsterdam. The intern will also help out with everyday tasks around the Amsterdam office.SPARK offers the Intern the opportunity to work with young people from various countries, and to challenge him/herself within the context of a vibrant and growing NGO.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Assisting in the organization of the visit of a Libyan business delegation to Amsterdam;
• Supporting/performing background research and other tasks related to the economic program development in Libya and the surrounding region;
• Provide administrative office support, such as checking the general mail, helping in HR and recruitment processes, arranging flights, visas and hotels, running errands around town, etc
Requirements & Skills:
• Dutch work permit and resident in the Netherlands;
• BA or MA degree (or other relevant education) or studying in a relevant field (international economy, finance, development studies etc);
• Excellent English and Dutch (essential), Arabic language skills (an asset);
• Good communication and social skills and the ability and interest to work in a multicultural setting;
• Proven organizational skills and the ability to work independently;
• Available from as soon as possible/October for a minimum of six months (part-time negotiable);
