Georgia: Head of Mission in Georgia and Armenia
PEOPLE IN NEED IS SEEKING FOR HEAD OF MISSION IN GEORGIA AND ARMENIA
People in Need operates in Armenia since 2003 (in Yerevan and nearby regions) and in Georgia (region Imereti and Tbilisi) since 2005. We focus mostly on projects in sector of Education, Civic society development, small business and livelihoods, and development of social work (trafficking and migration prevention). Due to the long term presence in country became People in Need well established and respected international NGOs. Now we are seeking for Head of Mission in this region.
Location: Armenia, GeorgiaStarting date: November 2012Length of Contract: 18 months with possibility of extension
Head of Mission
Main role of Head of Mission is to ensure overall missions management, financial stabilisation and mission´s further strategic development, coordination of regional offices; together with representation towards donors, partners and authorities.
Substantial part will be also management of Migration project (EC funded) and management of national team (approx. 15 members).
Main responsibilites:
• overall management of both national and international employees in both countries • strategic planning and mission´s development in accordance with PIN´s priorities and needs of the particular region
• fundraising a and liasoning with institutional donors • supervision on the financial management, • programmes supervision and development incl. project proposals drafting and writing, reporting, and monitoring & evaluation ensuring, • representation of PIN towards media, public, partners, embassies, EC and local authorities
Suitable candidate has:
• sound experience with both team management and programmes management in development context • experience with projects designing and strategic planning, all the PCM, knowledge of the institutional donors environment (EC as donor experience welcomed) • understanding of principles of humanitarian and development work • experience with projects focused on migration and prevention of trafficking is the advantage • excellent working knowledge of English, and advanced Russian
• knowledge/ experience of region Caucasus of Post Soviet countries as such
