Save the Children UK and the Global Education Cluster is currently recruiting a consultant with experience in humanitarian financing, preferably with an education focus, to undertake an in-depth review of how education in emergencies is funded and the extent of the current financing gap.
The start date for this consultancy is the week beginning 28 April 2014 and is for a period of 17.5 days. The consultancy is in two parts:
The first deliverable of this consultancy is to develop a 2013 update to the Global Education Cluster’s Education Cannot Wait: Humanitarian Funding is Failing Childrenbriefing (ECW 2012 briefing). Please see

This deliverable is expected to take 5 days and is due on or before Friday 9th May 2014.
The second deliverable of this consultancy is to expand on the work above to undertake a more in-depth scoping exercise of how education in emergencies is currently funded (through key informant interviews and desk-based research) and produce a report that summarises findings and makes recommendations for an improved funding architecture for education in emergencies. This deliverable is expected to take 12.5 days and is due on or before Friday 13th June 2014.
