1. Background
AIP-PRISMA is a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) – Australian Aid program, which aims to contribute to a 30 per cent or larger increase in incomes for 1 million poor rural female and male farmers in five provinces across eastern Indonesia: East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Papua and Papua.
The four-year program will improve opportunities for poor farmers by enhancing productivity, innovation and business performance in a number of markets, including coconut, maize, coffee, cassava, mango, cashew, livestock and seaweed. AIP-PRISMA will support farmer groups, processors, input supply companies, financial institutions, government service providers and other investors to increase competitiveness in these markets. It will work in a range of sub-sectors in collaboration with farmers, businesses, government and civil society partners to increased competitiveness of poor male and female farmers through (i) Increased productivity; (ii) Improved business performance; (iii) A growing share of an expanding market; and (iv) the continuous adoption of innovations that contribute to productivity, performance, and market growth. The project will work in twenty (20) districts of five (5) provinces in Eastern Indonesia: East Java, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), West Papua and Papua.
2. Consultant Requirements
We are accepting expressions of interest from those who have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
· Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) and systemic approaches to market development
· Gender and Private Sector Development
· Agriculture Development and Support to Agribusiness
· Agricultural Finance
· Result Measurement
· Social Inclusion
3. Required Skills and Experience
· Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Agriculture, International Development or related fields.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in one of the fields listed above.
· Strong understanding of the Indonesian context; experience in working in Eastern Indonesia is an advantage.
· Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to deliver high quality technical assistance.
· A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English is required; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is an advantage.
