For more information, please visit: www.psi.org.*The Nutrition Manager will be responsible for initiating and overseeing the start of the nutrition component within the ICCM program. The manager will be responsible for supervising the Nutrition Coordinator and Nutrition Officer based in Wau to ensure all activities are completed, budgets maintained and ultimately be responsible for the Nutrition programme in Wau and Jur River Counties.

JOB PURPOSE

The role of the Nutrition Manager is to oversee all Nutrition activities and provide leadership and management in coordination with the Malaria and Child Survival Technical Advisor. He/she will particularly work with the Child Survival Program Manager, ICCM Coordinator in Wau, and the Malaria, Child Survival Technical Adviser. As this is a new addition to the current activities, PSI South Sudan seeks a dynamic manager who can engage with partner NGO organizations, local ministries and health departments, as well as, the community leaders and volunteers. Similar this individual will monitor all ICCM/Nutrition trainings, workshops and activities in accordance with the ICCM grants and manage the budget for the programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a remote team to effectively meet targets and programme objectives for Nutrition within the ICCM structure.
  • Monitor relations with Health facility and SMOH nutrition department on the establishment of OTP sites in the areas of operation.
  • Collect, analyze and write weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to provide Nutrition (CMAM) updates and progress.
  • Professionally represent PSI South Sudan in Country, participating in Nutrition cluster meetings with partners and stakeholders and maintain excellent relation with State Ministry of Health Department of Nutrition.
  • Ensure complete assessment, anthropometric measurement of CMAM/SAM cases in children under five years and adhere to WHO/ South Sudan nutrition treatment guidelines/protocols are strictly followed.
  • Actively work with various support departments (finance, operations, logistics, etc) to achieve optimal performance for the ICCM team.
  • Act as a liaison between headquarter office and Wau field office to ensure all communication succeeds and procedures followed
  • Responsible for the capacity building of department staff on nutrition related topics
  • Monitoring the project implementation to ensure quality and achieving targets
  • Monitor project spending and provide overall financial management of donor grants
  • Provide necessary support and work as required by the Malaria and Child Survival Technical Advisor.

Essential requirements

§ He/she should be a holder of Degree in Nutrition & food technology, Public Health or advance Diploma in comprehensive Nursing.

§ He/she should be a South Sudanese National,

§ He/she should be fluent in Both English and Local Arabic, knowledge of classical Arabic is an added advantage.

§ He/she should at least have 7 years Experience in Nutrition related programme.

§ He/She shoul be well versed in creating and operating programmes with detailed budgets, workplans and diverse teams

§ He/she should have Experience in community facilitation, mobilisation, and training

· He/she should have excellent communication skills and the ability to cooperate with others as part of the team.

· He/she should be willing to work independently through line management under limited/distance supervision
