Expert (m/f) for Partner Advisory Services in "Rural Development" in Islamabad, Pakistan
This post is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial term ending 31.12.2014. The office is located in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Objectives and responsibilities of the position
Welthungerhilfe works together with local partner organisations in order to implement its pro-gramme in Pakistan. As Expert for Partner Advisory Services in "Rural Development", you are re-sponsible for supervising and advising our local partner organisations in the implementation of a WASH, Shelter & Nutrition project funded by ECHO as well as a reconstruction project funded by the Federal Foreign Office.
Your key responsibilities:
- Supporting partner organisations in implementing the project
- Planning and developing new projects (income-generating measures, infrastructure, food security and emergency aid)
- Strengthening the skills of partners in the field of creating project proposals, reporting, moni-toring and evaluation, and financial administration
- Advising and strengthening Welthungerhilfe's presence and structure in the Sindh province
- Managing contingency projects in Sindh in close cooperation with the partner organisations
- Supporting national and programme coordination in the implementation, further development and institutionalisation of concepts and instruments in line with our fixed strategy for Pakistan
Your qualifications will include:
- a project-related university or polytechnic degree in the field of rural development, community development, engineering (WASH) or food security
- project experience within co-financed projects run by international (aid) organisations, prefer-ably in the region
- several years of experience in the consultancy of (partner) organisations and in organisational development
- coordination and organisational skills, even under difficult local conditions
- very good knowledge and experience in the use of participative planning and advisory methods
- very good spoken and written command of English, knowledge of Urdu, Punjabi or Saraiki desirable
