The Assistance Coordination Unit, the humanitarian coordination arm of the Syrian National Coalition for Revolution and Opposition Forces, is seeking a qualified writer and editor to assist the ACU's Advocacy Department in the production, review, and oversight of all media, publications, official documents, and other external communication initiatives. S/he will be responsible, inter alia, for the production of press releases, op-eds, briefing documents, donor reports, newsletters, blog articles, aid reports, and official publications. S/he will also be responsible for editing and reviewing all materials to ensure compliance with institutional messaging and style, and translating Arabic materials into English and visa-versa.
Qualified applicants must have 3-5 years of work experience in journalism, editing, copy-writing, or a related field, and demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the Syrian humanitarian crisis and the international aid environment. S/he should be able to write clearly, concisely, and informatively. Fluent in both Arabic and English is required. Syrian national strongly preferred.
