International Medical Corps (IMC) is seeking a family planning/reproductive health proposal development consultant to contribute to the technical development and writing of an upcoming USAID RFA on Effective Communication Programming for Increasing Utilization of Family Planning and Reproductive Health (FP/RH) Services in Jordan. The consultant must have substantial technical expertise in FP/RH with additional skill in facilitating and writing proposals for public health interventions.
Primary Responsibilities:• Guide the proposal development process in terms of technical components from inception through successful submission• Coordinate and/or review technical and programmatic input from a multidisciplinary team of health professionals in the US and Jordan to develop and present a coherent and forward-thinking technical strategy in line with USAID objectives and guidance• Write technical sections of the proposal as required• Development of specific requests and timelines for input from partners, and coordination of inputs from these partners• Ability and willingness to travel to Jordan if deemed necessary, though this is not anticipated at this time
- Minimum master’s degree in public health, health policy, social sciences or relevant discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience in design, implementation, and management of FP/RH and/or maternal and child health programs in developing countries in public, NGO, faith-based, and/or community-based sectors
- Thorough knowledge of technical aspects of family planning, reproductive health, and behavior change communication
- Strong track record of development of competitive proposals
- Prior experience with USAID solicitations
- Ability to analyze USAID solicitations, design and write successful technical proposals in a limited amount of time
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally on short notice if needed
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in diverse teamsPrevious relevant experience in the Middle East region strongly preferred, with Jordan added valueMUST have excellent writing skills (please request writing samples)Skilled in use of MS Office including excel and graphics
