Jordan: Chief of party

Chemonics seeks a senior-level rule of law expert to serve as chief of party for an anticipated USAID-funded project in Jordan. The ideal candidate has international experience in legal and/or judicial reform and a solid understanding of rule of law issues, particularly as they relate to Jordan. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the technical direction and provide management oversight of the project
- Liaise with high-level host-country government officials, USAID, and other donors and partners
- Monitor project performance and progress toward meeting objectives
- Contribute to project reports and deliverables
- Supervise local and international short- and long-term staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Experience working in developing countries required
Sectoral expertise in at least two of the following areas:
-Judicial reform
-Anticorruption
-Public awareness
-Civil society participation
-Court administration and management
-Legal frameworks within the justice sector
-Legal education and judicial training
-Local capacity development and human resource management
-Justice sector institution-building
-Access to justice, particularly for womenDemonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- English fluency required
