Nicaragua: Junior Legal Consultant

Position Summary The La Isla Foundation is seeking a junior legal consult to support our Legal Team during an upcoming human rights study. This position is contingent on funding.
Key Responsibilities• Conduct Spanish-language field interviews with affected workers and their families• Conduct Spanish and English in depth qualitative key informant interviews• Provide translation assistance to members of the legal team and locally-based advocates• Assist in qualitative and quantitative data entry and analysis• Assist in the drafting of a study report
Required Qualifications• JD or a graduate degree in law, human rights, international relations, or similar area of study.• Minimum of 2 years work experience in a related setting• Demonstrated familiarity with human rights principles, labor law, and development issues• Legal research experience• Professional-level proficiency in Spanish • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite• Experience with SPSS or other statistical software• Strong written and oral communication skills• Experience conducting human rights interviews and working directly with affected populations
This consultancy assignment is expected take place from Aug 19th to Oct 4th.
