Iraq: Assessment Team Leader

The Assessment Team Leader will work under the direction of a home office Project Director to lead the efforts of a local survey research firm and a part-time Marketing Specialist to conduct the assessment. The Team Leader will provide expertise both in general assessment and survey design and implementation as well as subject matter expertise regarding marketing and urban planning. S/he will coordinate with the Project Director on the development of the assessment design and methodology, and will be responsible for overseeing data collection, analysis, and development of required reports.
Responsibilities:
The Assessment Team Leader’s primary tasks will include:
• In collaboration with the Project Director, finalize the assessment methodology including a mixed-methods approach
• In coordination with the Project Director and Marketing Specialist, conduct field visits and key informant interviews in Baghdad
• In coordination with the Project Director, finalize the design of surveys and focus groups to be conducted by a local survey research firm, and oversee the data collection and analysis efforts of the firm
• Participate in meetings, interviews, and presentations to the client, implementing organizations, and project beneficiaries as directed by Project Director (both in Iraq and remotely)
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience required in the design and/or implementation of assessments, surveys and evaluations for international clients
• Experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methods
• Extensive knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis tools and methods
• Subject matter knowledge in marketing and/or urban planning preferred
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
• Spoken Arabic skills are highly desirable
• Experience having worked in Iraq or the Middle East, preferred
