RTI is seeking Clinical Case Management Specialist candidates for an anticipated malaria prevention and control opportunity in Ghana. The purpose of this USAID/Ghana President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) Expansion Project is to increase coverage and use of key life-saving malaria interventions in support of Ghana’s National Malaria Control Program (NMCP). The Clinical Case Management Specialist will provide key technical inputs to guide the implementation of the project. Ghanaian nationals are encouraged to apply.

Roles and Responsibilities:

•Works in close collaboration with the Chief of Party and other technical staff to provide strategic inputs to the project’s activities.•Responsible for scaling-up the use of microscopy and RDT malaria in health facilities and improving the management of severe malaria as well as uncomplicated malaria.•Supports training on the management of malaria, particularly severe malaria, LLIN provision and IPTp delivery.•Supports on-site supervision of healthcare workers including benchmark assessments, on the spot training on new algorithms, and coaching.•Supports in vivo efficacy testing of antimalarials and ensure implementation of pharmacovigilance.•Represents the project on case management related activities and respond to any specific requirements from the COP.•In collaboration with the project’s M&E Specialist, monitors project results and is responsible for ensuring that the project provides high quality services, meets its annual targets and maximizes positive outcomes.•Liaises with other critical government and development partners working in malaria such as Ministry of Health and NMCP, USAID/ Ghana and PMI, and other in-country malaria stakeholders.•Represents RTI in national level technical working groups, committees, and other relevant fora.•Ensures the timely and quality completion of all program technical deliverables and reports in accordance with USAID guidelines.

•Qualifications:

•Clinical background required (Medical Doctor, Nurse, or other clinical position) as well as 5-10 years of experience in malaria prevention and control programs funded by USAID or another donor. In-depth technical knowledge of malaria interventions being used in Ghana, including ACTs, RDTs, IPTp and ITNs. Prior experience collaborating with NMCP•Minimum 8-10 years experience working in the field of malaria prevention and control in Africa;•Prior experience working on USG-funded programs preferred;•Additional professional training in malariology or parasitology will be preferred;•Demonstrated senior-level expertise in malaria prevention and control preferred including experience with ITNs, ACTs, RDTs, and IPTp.•Prior experience working on malaria control programs in DRC and partnering with or working with NMCP strongly desired;•Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a large team team-oriented setting.
